How do Christians believe in the Oneness of God and in the Holy Trinity simultaneously?
Q. Christians believe that God is One, correct? Then where does the Trinity come in? But how can God be One and Three at once? I thought Christian believe in One God but it seems as if God has split Himself into three. Surely believing in the divinity of any other but God is not believing in the Oneness of God. A. God is one. Simply because God appeared in Person, it does not mean that He is not one? Simply because He indwells His prophets does not mean that He is many. Understand who Jesus is to understand that God is one. His name is called The Word of God (Rev 19:13). In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God. Jesus was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Jesus, and without Jesus, nothing was made that was made. And Jesus became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:1-3, 14). Jesus is called the Son of God because as the Word of God, He came from the Father. Through Jesus, God created the heavens and the earth. By good logic, you, your word, and your spirit are one person and not 3 persons.… [cont.]

A. Is Satan Really Such a Bad Guy? According to Christianity, Satan is the epitome and embodiment of all evil things, described as "the father of all lies" in the Catholic Church's Catechism (paragraph 391). It is his works that tempt humans into doing bad deeds. If something evil occurs, we can be assured that Satan had something to do with it. The History of Satan According to Catholicism, Satan only exists because God allows him to (The Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 395). This raises some serious issues about how righteous God can be if he allows evil to exist, but I digress. Satan, as the story goes, began as the angel Lucifer, who outrightly rejected God and rebelled against him. God cast Lucifer and those who… [cont.]

How did people relate to God before the bible was released?
Q. How were their christians before the bible? Was God just in their face more? Or was it all word of mouth from adam & eve? People seemed to be getting along just fine before, so is their too much emphasis put on the bible? I'm not saying anything negative whatsoever against the bible. I love it, but just wondering why there isn't equal emphasis on other things like praying and talking to God, and whatever they did before the bible came out.

What are the 3 persons that christians claim fuse their powers together to create illusion of "a" God?
Q. Christian quoted saying: " The Trinity is one God existing in three Persons. Understand that this is not in any way suggesting three Gods. Keep in mind when studying this subject that the word Trinity is not found in Scripture. This is a term that is used to attempt to describe the triune God three coexistent, co-eternal Persons who make up God." @ Jules that doesn't answer the question.

The impression could arise that the Trinitarian dogma is in the last analysis a late 4th-century invention. In a sense, this is true . . . How come the Bible is the downfall of many denominations of Christianity?
Q. Like in Mormonism, they teach something about Christ that Paul doesnt preach. In Catholcism, they teach something about Mary that the bible didn't teach, in certain sects of Evangelism, their own preachers are flithy rich, and lie, and the bible preaches against that. And there are many more. So why are so many denominations, who are supposed to be based on the teachings of the Bible, not in line with the bible??

A. It's doing the work God intended it to do! "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of sol and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12). The Bible is so written that our motives are exposed. The way we handle the word of God shows whether we are prepared to "let God be found true, though every man be found a liar" or not (Rom. 3:4). Only when we receive the word of God is it "effectively at work in you who believe" (1 Thess. 2:13). Those who try to use it for their own ends are exposed as frauds. A. This is a very good connection! There are many verses that can provide such imagery. One of the gods of the Old Testament, Shaddai, more closely resembles Hephaestus than any others. Apologist claim that this is just another name for god but I'm of the camp that all the names of the OT 'god' were actually separate gods at one point in time. Like Hephaestus, Shaddai is often described as controlling lightning, fire, and smoking mountains (volcanoes); as well as being the forger, crafter of earth. He was also believed to live on a mystical mountain - most commonly Mount Sinai - the Mountain of 'Sin'. How could a Christian justify the Bible saying that the earth is flat?
Q. I'm a fairly new Christian, but I've never considered this before: The Bible does not specifically claim that "the earth is flat" but it is strongly hinted in several places. It is also rarely hinted at that the earth is round, or a sphere, etc. So if the Bible is God's word, how could a Christian justify the Bible's claims of our earth being flat, when God created earth? Surely God should know that the earth is round, and so this should be said in the Bible?

Members of practically every different organization, be they religious or secular, do things that are deplorable, but this does not necessarily make that organization and all its members guilty by association. Any organization that exists long enough will have some of its members, or perhaps the entire organization, do something not to be proud of. A. "Does anything happen on this planet that is against Gods will?" If the answer is yes, then he is not omnipotent and not worthy of the title God. If the answer is no then he allows bad things to happen. I think Epicurus was the first to logically argue that suffering/evil negates the existence of a benevolent God.

Asked by darwinsfriend3 AM - Wed Oct 7 11:55:01 2009 - Religion & Spirituality - 21 Answers - Comments

A. It's an odd situation. The Jewish understanding is that we were chosen for this particular path, or more like we were the only ones who agreed to take it. We respect that other people have their own paths. But Christianity came along and did this very strange thing. They decided that the Jewish covenant was the one and only and that they had taken it over. Why they felt they had to have ours is a matter for speculation. So it's not the Bible, but rather how people who get their interpretation from Christianity (even if they're not Christian) have been taught to define this concept.

Christians: How do you react when your religion is attacked?
Q. I know many Christians who get very upset when people criticize the Bible and a belief in God. But isn't it really a positive thing that people are attacking Christianity with such great zeal, as that is precisely what God said would happen before armageddon? That means the end comes near, the prize is just around the corner, the carrot at the end of the stick, if you will. It would be far worse if no one criticized Christian beliefs. That would mean the apocalypse is still far off, and isn't that a depressing idea?

A. If your in a Christian School I don't see why not. It's also the understanding and the knowledge that you have received that will keep you in your spiritual relationship as well as your daily walk in life. Life continues as you leave your school to prepare for the reality thereof. Your Christian School needs to know that you are leaving with the full understanding of why Christ is so significant, why Christ does not need to be put on the back burner just because you graduated. Your understanding of why Christ is the first and up most importance will come full circle if you are prepared.

Q. Christians argue that the Bible is inerrant, infallible, and the Word of God ,so can have no contradictions or errors. Will they therefore question their belief if it is shown that the bible is flawed? Example: Dr. Michael Segal, editor for the Hebrew University Bible Project in Jeruselam displayed a dull-looking chart projected on the wall of a university office in Jerusalem revealing a revelation that would startle many readers of the Old Testament: The sacred text that people revered in the past was not the same one we study today. An ancient version of one book has an extra phrase. Another appears to have been revised to retroactively insert a prophecy after the events happened.
