Where in the bible does it say blasphemy will be forgiven?
Q. I comitted blasphemy on Christ before I'm only 14. I have asked on yahoo answers before saying yes and no. My Sunday school teacher said god will forgive anything. It says in the bible god won't forgive blasphemy on Christ. But I'm receiving answers saying I will get forgived. Where does it say god will forgive blasphemy in the bible or what makes you think god will forgive blasphemy not that I'm disagreeing I'm just asking. Also this isn't my main question but if your a non Christian aren't you comitting blasphemy.

A. It seems pretty clear to me... Mark 3 'Assuredly, I [Jesus] say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation. In Matthew 12:31-32, Jesus says to the Pharisees, "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come" That doesn't really fit with modern day Christianity though, so best we forget that one.

What is the difference between Christian and Christian Orthodox?
Q. I was baptised as a Christian Orthodox but I have not been practicing for the last 9 years since I have left my home country. There aren't any Christian Orthodox churches nearby but I feel it's time to learn more about religion and let God in my life. My university has Christian worship nights and I would like to go to them. I also feel that I would be more welcome with them than with the Romanian Orthodox church. I'm confused what the difference between Christian and Christian Orthodox?
Asked by Corina - Mon Apr 16 14:55:33 2012 - Religion & Spirituality - 7 Answers - Comments

A. There are many sects of Christianity that do not hold to the teachings of the ancient Christian Church. Among these are all the Protestants. The Orthodox Church has held steadfastly to the doctrines it received from the early church, with out addition or deletion. Primarily, most of the Protestant churches reject several points of the creed, if not all of it, and do not have sacraments ("mysteries", in the Orthodox Church) at all. University for Orthodox Christian students can be a lonely time. Keep the faith; say your prayers, read the scriptures and study Orthodox spiritual works. Christians, how is an unbeliever supposed to join you when you are so fragmented amongst yourselves?
Q. Thousands and thousands of sects and the moment one jumps into the system each will be tugging you to themselves and threaten that if you dont adhere to their brand of Christianity you are likely to go to hell etc... You have Christians witnessing to fellow christians... Jehovah's witnesses, seventh day adventists, Baptists, church of Christ etc etc... Is it acceptable to be christian without getting involved in this mayhem? Without involving oneself in sectarian theological divisions?
Asked by enrique - Sat Mar 10 18:54:00 2012 - Religion & Spirituality - 8 Answers - Comments

A. Fragmentation comes from a disalignment from God's Word. Jehovah's Witnesses teach that a person cannot understand Biblical truth, simply by reading it, the verses have to be interpreted through the context of their Watchtower Organization's publications. Cults will find a way to bypass the Bible, or put their own teachings above the Word of God. The Roman Catholic church does this. Even Mormons have additional so-called Holy Scriptures, which contradict God's words in the Bible. If you want to know what a true follower of Christ is, then read His words in the Bible. Someone who follows Jesus, follows His teachings. God says we are either for Him or against Him - and He will not accept those who are lukewarm (or indifferent). God says He… [cont.]

How Mormons can call themselves Christians when they do not believe in the holy trinity?
Q. The holy trinity is the core of the Christianity. And those that do not believe in it shouldn't be called Christians. How can someone call him self a Muslim when he does not believe in the Qur'an or Muhammad? I mean how can you call a device a mobile phone if it does not make calls? Right?
Asked by Amer - Sun May 6 02:49:25 2012 - Religion & Spirituality - 21 Answers - Comments

A. Actually, the holy trinity is not at all the core of Christianity. Many Christians do not believe in the trinity. The Bible itself does not define the word trinity, nor did Jesus say you have to believe that to be Christian. And for every verse that you think supports the concept, you find verses that do not. The trinity is a man-made doctrine that was invented in the second century, clarified during the third century, and declared doctrinal during the fourth century. Early Christians did not understand the nature of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Some believed in two Gods (one for the OT, one for the NT), some believed in seven Gods, one for each day of the week, and some believed in 365 Gods, one for each day of the… [cont.]

Q. How were their christians before the bible? Was God just in their face more? Or was it all word of mouth from adam & eve? People seemed to be getting along just fine before, so is their too much emphasis put on the bible? I'm not saying anything negative whatsoever against the bible. I love it, but just wondering why there isn't equal emphasis on other things like praying and talking to God, and whatever they did before the bible came out.

Opinion: How has Christianity lasted the ages and the persecution?
Q. Despite the trouble we Christians face we are still here, and despite the naysayers and false-Christians there are still some true Christians and truth in the original message of Christ. Is faith why Christianity has lasted the ages, or love and faith? This sentence has been a question many ask as to how the faithful though at once few have blossomed. Could the answer be of faith, love, both faith and love, by a belief in grace and mercy, and or the truth of the Bible? If you disagree with what I said, fine, you are entitled to your opinion as I am to mine. I only ask that if you answer in either agreement, or disagreement please keep things civil and in decency. A. All sins are forgivable in Islam if the person sincerely repents to Allah. Conditions of repentance are these: 1. Regretting the sin 2. Determining not to commit the same sin again 3. Returning things to their rightful owners if the sin is related to wronging people. What cannot be forgiven if the person does not repent of it before dying is shirk or taking partners with Allah. Allah says 'Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgiveth anything else, to whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin most heinous indeed." How do you interpret separation of church and state in the USA?
Q. The way I see it is that Christianity and church are different. So when we say there is a separation of church and state that doesn't mean there is a separation of Christianity and state. Clerics are not part of the Christian religion, and in Europe they created a lot of problems, because all they cared about is money and material things, not about God. Vatican and other clerical institutions are just that - institutions, and they do not represent Christianity. Christianity was not meant to be so institutionalized and clerical. And because of their evil there was a lot of church-led persecution of different people. That's why when we established America as a bunch of European refugees we said separation of church and state. why do some people think Christianity condones hate and murder?
Q. I see so many questions and answers on here (especially in R&S and LGBT) where people blame war, murder, hate, and bigotry on Christianity. Christianity is based on LOVE, there are so many examples in the Bible where God says to love thy neighbor, don't judge, and that he loves all people. When a Christian condemns another person or hurts them for believing something different this angers God! He encourages Christians to unconditionally LOVE everyone. So why do you blame God and Christianity for crimes Christians commit? That is the MAN not the religion being hateful.

A. In a word: "history". Crucifixions were not allowed to be removed from crosses. They were left up there to rot as an added insult after death showing that it was not a good idea to go against the Romans. If Jesus was never buried how did he rise up from the grave that he was never put in? Also, it wasn't until 325 C.E. that it was decided by a committee that Jesus was divine, i.e., God. I don't think God would need a committee to decide that. Further, according to the prophecies Jesus didn't fulfill about 28 of what was foretold. A. Many Christians get hurt at churches by the people or the pastor. Sometimes they have set the pastor up to a certain standard and when he fails, they feel disillusioned and disappointed. That is why we should never follow man, but only look to Jesus. I have been hurt at church before, actually my family was asked to leave a church for questioning the pastor on a doctrinal issue. However, no matter how many churches I leave or get pushed out of, I would never leave Christianity. Being a Christian, for me, is following Jesus. It is not following a pastor, attending a certain building, or going to be with friends. It is about Jesus.

They have nothing to fear in the afterlife - whatever that may be. My problem is finding a Christian church that believes the same. Every church I've tried I can't get through a few months before the pastor tells us all that he feels sorry for the followers of other religions because they're all going to hell. A. While there are a wide range of styles among congregations, you might look for a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) church around you. They tend to be pretty tolerant of other faith traditions, Christian and otherwise, though, because the churches are governed locally, you may find a variety of shadings. You can find out more at www.disciples.org.

Constantine ordered the bishops of the church to gather at Nicea to determine not only what books were to be included in the New Testament, but even the nature of Jesus himself. Before that, there were varying beliefs about his divinity. Some believed that he was God incarnate, some that he was the Son of God, and some that he was merely a great Rabbi, or teacher. Second, depending on the ritual performed over the necklace will depend on whether it has evil influence but the upside down cross by itself has no influence. Indeed prayer, fasting and the Word of God (The Tree of Life and Light) are indeed much better ways for protection. A prayer was lifted up for your friend and his brother. Christianity (from the Ancient Greek: Χριστιανός Christianos and the Latin suffix -itas) is a monotheistic and Abrahamic religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as presented in canonical gospels and other New Testament writings as well as the Old Testament. Most adherents of the Christian faith, known as Christians, believe that Jesus is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human and the savior of humanity prophesied in the Old Testament. Consequentially, Christians commonly refer to Jesus as Christ or Messiah.
