Do you like movies about religion and deities?
Q. Such as greek 'mythology', Stigmata, the Devil's Advocate, etc,.. What are some you enjoy? I myself am partial to watching them, it's like fairytales and fantasy equal to Cinderella and dragons.

A. I love them. My absolute favorite is The Prophecy, (it's actually a trilogy) starring Christopher Walken. He plays the archangel Gabriel, on a quest to capture a sadistic general's soul in order to use it against Michael and the other angels, in an effort to win the war in Heaven. Some other favorites are Dagon, an outstanding film by Stuart Gordon, which involves four boaters who encounter the Philistine fish god. The Rapture, with David Duchovney and Mimi Rogers. What happens if you've spent your life waiting for Christ's return, then lose your faith only hours before the Rapture occurs? Requiem, the German-language story of the woman -Analise Michelle- who died during her exorcism. Unlike the Hollywood version, this one centers on her… [cont.]

I do, however, travel frequently around Central America for tourism. Things to see in no specific order. antigua - Small, colonial, walking pueblo. Ruins and Spanish colonial structures. Tours and mircrobuses to other attractions in the country are abundant. Nightlife can be quite fun as well. PACAYA - An active volcano only 1.5 hours from Antigua. Atheists: Is Nick Schuyler s survival a miracle?
Q. Nick Schhuyler is the sole survivor of a weekend fishing trip turned tragic where 3 others, including 2 professional football players, lost their lives. Headlines, Doctor: Boater s survival a miracle if you asked me I don t think he could have lasted 46 hours, [Dr] Rumbak said. I can t explain it, (it s) some divine providence. Okay atheists, first cite your credentials (education), and then let s here what you have to say about this doctor who has at least 7 years of intensive, science-based higher education. Fascinating, a lot of typical cynical answers from the atheists but no credentials, just unsubstantiated gibberish. So much for atheist credibility on R&S.

Why do people always think they're saved by god?
Q. I live in michigan not too long ago 4 boaters went out onto lake Erie and their boat flipped, and they were hanging onto the boat for over twenty four hours. They said they had many prayer meetings, eventually the coast guard found them and they thanked god. I personally think, if the coast guard found me, i'd probably think oh thank you, the coast guard did their job.
Asked by chevyloo487 - Sun Aug 2 05:38:20 2009 - Religion & Spirituality - 6 Answers - Comments
A. Because, like every religious person, they think they're special. They think that god has some sort of preference for them over others. They think that they can't possibly be wrong about anything because they have god on their side, and they have god on their side because they can't possibly be wrong. It's a self-feeding delusion.

Q. I believe that both the Koran and the Bible have too many absurdities, hypocrisies, inconsistencies and contradictions to be considered the word of any god. People for or against the religions of these books can both find passages that support their position. My questions are, If either of these books were actually the true word of god, then would it not be virtually impossible for a mere human being to find all of these mistakes? Life itself, humanity, is full of absurdities, hypocrisies, inconsistencies and contradictions. How can scripture address these issues without being first perceived likewise? Many things are misinterpreted even in daily conversations between people who speak the same language, in the same household even, in the same family. Does this mean that there is no love within the family because there are misunderstandings? A. God does not curse us, we curse ourselves. It is a common misconception that God is all about anger and wrath towards those doing wrong, (such as many of the horror stories in the OLD testament) which is probably one of the biggest things that keeps people from being interested in Christianity. God gives us plenty of avenues to choose from, if we choose the wrong ones, its our own fault for being foolish. People perpetuate the belief they are cursed by consistently focusing on the bad things that have happened/are happening/could happen to them rather than the good. To rid themselves of this self/human-induced "curse", all one has to do is change their focus to things going right instead of wrong. It's that simple. Our minds are… [cont.]

A. **Disclaimer** It is extremely unlucky to rename a boat! You should only rename a boat if you find it impossible to live with the current name. Poseidon, God of the Sea, is not to be taken lightly. This is serious stuff (to boaters)! First things first: you must remove ALL traces of the old name. Any logs, charts, pictures... any place you can find it - check, erase, and recheck (white-out is acceptable). This is essesntial to reducing your bad luck. After all records of the old name are purged, you may begin the purging ceremony by calling onto Poseidon. A tag or card with the ship's old name on it is required, as well as Champagne and several friends. Do not open the bottle until after this speech is read: "Oh mighty and great ruler… [cont.]

Girls, would you date me?
Q. A few quick things about me (I'll try to be as unbiased as possible). 19 and a virgin. Never had a girlfriend or kissed a girl. I am a Christian and go to church every week and love God and Jesus but my friends and I have talked and decided that maybe God doesn't necessarily want us to be virgins until marriage, just to be responsible and wait for the right girl. I'm country. I drive a 2002 Jeep Wrangler that I modified myself so I am good with cars and love mudding. I love country music and love to tailgate even more. I love football (Go Cowboys). I work for a contractor doing all types of labor and construction from landscaping to painting and carpentry. I am a hard worker (worked 60 hours a week during summer monday through saturday). I… [cont.]

A. Trust me, I've been interested in allot of my guy friends, but they never had the confidence to take me. If I've known you for a while I don't want to be approached I want to be taken. I want it to be unexpected and romantic, make it personal, and be spontanious. There is nothing better then a stolen kiss. And Just as guys like to be a girls first, girls like the same thing. IT means that she will be the girl you remember for the rest of your life. IF you find a girl, and she intrests in you a significant way, don't ask any questions, just grab her by the waist and kiss her. Trust me, she'll be smitten.

When the Somali pirates and bible boaters died did they each go to their religions heaven?
Q. Some of the pirates were killed along with all the hostages. Just wondering if they each went to thier separate heavens?

A. Going to heaven (there is only one) depends entirely on how you answer the question, "Do you know Jesus?"

A nice sea/lake boat?
Q. We have been fortunate enough by the grace of God to be able to move to a lake home in our community. I am interested now in purchasing a boat to complete the lake dream. I've looked at Regal and Sea Ray but am not very aware of many other brands. I'd like either a ski boat or a boat with some sort of comfortable cabin where we can spend a night on the lake or ocean. The boats I've seen that pique my interest are different from one another, so any recommendations similar to either one of them are welcome. For comfort and cabin, the Sea Ray Sundancer 305 or 310 or the Regal 2520 RX. I love wake boarding. Any recommendations similar to these boats or recommendations based on your experiences would be appreciated, thank you!

A. First off, you're going to have to figure out what you really want to do. No single boat does everything well, nor can do everything people want to do. Both would be terrible for wake boarding. You could wake board behind the Regal, but the wake will be very wide since the boat is 8'6" wide and heavy. For get about using the Sundancer at all. I own three different boats for doing different things. I have a boat for the lake for water skiing, wake boarding and tubing at my lakefront home, a Sea Ray 260 Sundancer for bay & ocean use, and a motor yacht for extended cruising. I've been a boater all my life and have over 40 years behind the helm, so I know what I'm talking about. The Sundancers that you're looking at are the LEAST… [cont.]

Which is the coolest state?
Q. I've traveled around a lot, but have lived in New York the majority of my life, but currently in Florida. I will be in San Diego and LA next month, so I'll see how the west coast lives. But I have to say, out of all the places I've lived and visited, New York is still the coolest place to live. Perhaps I'm biased because I was born there, but New Yorkers are as real and down to earth as anyone can be. And it's true the richest, most affluent people in the country live in New York, perhaps they also have a pad in LA or elsewhere, but the top hedge fund managers, and investment bankers live in the city. It's definately a cool place!

A. West Virginia. Now before anyone starts with the inbred jokes just hear me out. For starters, its population is one of the lowest in the country. Per cap. crime is one of the lowest in the counrty. Urban sprawl? whats that? This place has everything but ocean front. Hell, I can't stand the sand anyway and i'm afraid of things that can eat me. Anyway, where i'm from is a little town called Fayetteville, WV. It was rated as one of the top 10 coolest towns in the country(budget travel) also one of the top 10 boater towns in the country(paddler mag) Outside wrote that its a must come check out. You ask why? We've got the world's best whitewater, the climbing is some of the best in the world and the mountain biking oppurtunities are endless.… [cont.]
