A resource is a source or supply from which benefit is produced. Typically resources are materials, money, services, staff, or other assets that are transformed to produce benefit and in the process may be consumed or made unavailable. Benefits of resource utilization may include increased wealth, meeting needs or wants, proper functioning of a system, or enhanced well being. From a human perspective a natural resource is anything obtained from the environment to satisfy human needs and wants. From a broader biological or ecological perspective a resource satisfies the needs of a living organism (see biological resource).

The concept of resources has been applied in diverse realms, including with respect to economics, biology, computer science, land management, and human resources, and is linked to the concepts of competition, sustainability, conservation, and stewardship. In application within human society, commercial or non-commercial factors require resource allocation through resource management.

Resources have three main characteristics: utility, limited availability, and potential for depletion or consumption. Resources have been variously categorized as biotic versus abiotic, renewable versus non-renewable, and potential versus actual, along with more elaborate classifications.

What scriptural grounds do organized denominations have to control local churches?
Q. Christ established the entity called the ecclesia- the church, assembly of believers. The system of governance in the New Testament is for a church to be governed by its eldership and no other external authority except Christ. Where did the organized church come from? All these denominations, all these church organizations controlling the churches? Why is there a departure from the local church autonomy of the New Testament? What scriptural mandate have people who set themselves over individual churches and want to run assemblies over whom only Christ is head? They tie individual churches into a common organization.

A. No Biblical grounds that I know of. However, if you were the pastor of a church that grew and grew, and you decided to have some of your staff start another church, and your church funded them, wouldn't ;you want them to follow some basic rules? What happens is that those basic rules just aren't enough, so more are added. Then maybe a person has a profit motive as well, and wants a bit of a commission off the new churches that are being started. After all, they are planting the churches, and need resources, etc. Control, power, greed could be motives. Of course the purity and holiness of the church is another reason to set up standards, rules, and policies.

How does God having attributes undermine the idea of His Oneness?
Q. I am reading about Islam and a recurrent theme is about how Islam handles the apparent contradiction between the claim that God is transcendent and a perfect unity, and the claim that He has attributes, such as knowledge and mercy. But I don't get how attributes undermine oneness. Could someone explain this to me?

A. The Bible is the inspired word of God. I am a Seventh Day Adventist - Only recently since GYC - 2008 have I really been 100% serious about God. God has changed my life for the good and I want Him to do the same to others as well. Studying the Bible, I have found God to be loving, compassionate, merciful, holy, perfect, kind, just and fair. It is my goal to share the truth about God with others so that they can make an educated decision to follow Him. Below are some awesome resources. If you are reading this and are serious about finding out who God really is and not just people's opinions please use these links... --- Free online Bible study Free sermons...
