What makes the Christian God anymore real than the gods of Greek mythology?
Q. I don't want to read a "God says so" argument. I would much rather read a philosophical argument. So if you answer in a fundamentalist way, I'll disregard your answer. The best answer goes to the person who can give me an answer that isn't drenched in fundamentalist religious doctrine, and an answer that provides me with some clue that you are sane.

A. Most would say that it is a matter of personal experience and/or a matter of searching these things out and finding the truth. As a Christian, it seems important to know what I believe and why I believe it. But I also need the personal experience, the reassurance, comfort, knowledge, and strength to know that God is here and that he is personally involved in my life. As we walk with the Lord, we can easily see his fingerprints in our lives. (He has been dealing with me on the topic of fear over the past few weeks in several different ways.) He is a God of revelation, and he promises to reveal himself to those who diligently seek after him.
