How do Christians believe in the Oneness of God and in the Holy Trinity simultaneously?
Q. Christians believe that God is One, correct? Then where does the Trinity come in? But how can God be One and Three at once? I thought Christian believe in One God but it seems as if God has split Himself into three. Surely believing in the divinity of any other but God is not believing in the Oneness of God. But how can God be One and Three at once? I thought Christian believe in One God but it seems as if God has split Himself into three. A. God is one. Simply because God appeared in Person, it does not mean that He is not one? Simply because He indwells His prophets does not mean that He is many. Understand who Jesus is to understand that God is one. His name is called The Word of God (Rev 19:13). In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God. Jesus was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Jesus, and without Jesus, nothing was made that was made. And Jesus became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:1-3, 14). Jesus is called the Son of God because as the Word of God, He came from the Father. Through Jesus, God created the heavens and the earth. By good logic, you, your word, and your spirit are one person and not 3 persons.… [cont.]

What was the eternal Bible God doing to occupy himself before the Jews and Christians came along?
Q. In human time, how long did the Bible God spend in complete solitude with no one to talk to prior to the existence of Jews and Christians?

A. God, being outside of time was always in fellowship--The Son, the Father and The Holy Spirit--never was their fellowship ever broken, and then we see that God the Son has always had a relationship with God the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit with the Father and the Father with the Son--that shows that God always has had fellowship and relationships within the trinity, that's just what we see in the Scriptures. Another thought, since God is Omniscient, then He knows everything all the time and has always known everything. Then with that thought, He always knew that He was going to create us--was there a time that God didn't have us on His mind (since He is Omniscient)?

How did people relate to God before the bible was released?
Q. How were their christians before the bible? Was God just in their face more? Or was it all word of mouth from adam & eve? People seemed to be getting along just fine before, so is their too much emphasis put on the bible? I'm not saying anything negative whatsoever against the bible. I love it, but just wondering why there isn't equal emphasis on other things like praying and talking to God, and whatever they did before the bible came out.

According to Christianity, Satan is the epitome and embodiment of all evil things, described as "the father of all lies" in the Catholic Church's Catechism (paragraph 391). What do you think happens to people after they die that have never heard of the Bible?
Q. My question is for you Christians out there. What do you think happens to people after they die that have never heard of the Bible and God? The Bible also states that ...it is appointed for man once to die and then the Judgment...which also indicates that there is no "holding period" for people. As to whether people or babies or children who have never heard of Jesus automatically go to Hell, the Bible does not state whether that is true or not but we can know that a loving and just God will judge them correctly. A. Actually the bible God is better because He is a combination of many of the others. What you need to remember is that the bible was compiled under the auspices of the roman emperor Constantine in an attempt to bring all of the various belief systems of the empire under a common faith. The result was to be the universal or catholic faith. The word Catholic is derived from the Greek adjective katholikos (katholikos), meaning "universal". There is nothing wrong with this and I do not mean for it to sound derogatory. Do Christians view the footnotes in their bibles as the divinely revealed word of their god?
Q. The footnotes in Christian bibles vary between all the different cults of Christianity. Different Christian cults want their flock of fools to have certain interpretations of the bible, so they design their footnotes in accordance with their intentions. There is so much manipulation in religions like Christianity and this is just more manipulation. But do Christians view these footnotes as gospel or are they allowed to exercise their own personal judgment on them?

A. +++To be honest I don't need to read the footnotes. I have come across some I didn't agree with. That is basically for people that don't understand the Word. Some of them have great historical information, depending on the Bible. They are not divine by any means. New Christians have to be careful and pray to understand the Word of God and not so much the footnotes. +++

How could a Christian justify the Bible saying that the earth is flat?
Q. I'm a fairly new Christian, but I've never considered this before: The Bible does not specifically claim that "the earth is flat" but it is strongly hinted in several places. It is also rarely hinted at that the earth is round, or a sphere, etc. So if the Bible is God's word, how could a Christian justify the Bible's claims of our earth being flat, when God created earth? Surely God should know that the earth is round, and so this should be said in the Bible?

A. The Bible states that the earth is spherical, but the word spherical doesn't exist in the ancient Hebrew language that the Old Testament was written in, so "spherical" is described using terminology that could only have been revealed by God at that time. I should start by pointing out that in Isaiah 40:22, the Hebrew word for circle is "chug" , and its Strong's translation may be "circle:" H2329 khv g chug khoog From H2328; a circle: - circle, circuit, compassive Likewise, the Hebrew word used in Isaiah 22:18 may mean circle, the english translators just chose to use "ball", here is Strong's definition of the ambigous Hebrew word used: H1754 d v r dur dure From H1752; a circle, ball or pile: - ball,… [cont.]

A. This is a very good connection! There are many verses that can provide such imagery. One of the gods of the Old Testament, Shaddai, more closely resembles Hephaestus than any others. Apologist claim that this is just another name for god but I'm of the camp that all the names of the OT 'god' were actually separate gods at one point in time. Like Hephaestus, Shaddai is often described as controlling lightning, fire, and smoking mountains (volcanoes); as well as being the forger, crafter of earth. He was also believed to live on a mystical mountain - most commonly Mount Sinai - the Mountain of 'Sin'. The Bible states that the earth is spherical, but the word spherical doesn't exist in the ancient Hebrew language that the Old Testament was written in, so spherical is described using terminology that could only have been revealed by God at that time. I should start by pointing out that in Isaiah 40:22, the Hebrew word for circle is chug , and its Strong's translation may be circle: H2329 khv g chug khoog From H2328; a circle: - circle, circuit, compassive Likewise, the Hebrew word used in Isaiah 22:18 may mean circle, the english translators just chose to use ball, here is Strong's definition of the ambigous Hebrew word used: H1754 d v r dur dure From H1752; a circle, ball or pile: - ball, turn, round about. Q. I'm a fairly new Christian, but I've never considered this before: The Bible does not specifically claim that the earth is flat but it is strongly hinted in several places. It is also rarely hinted at that the earth is round, or a sphere, etc. So if the Bible is God's word, how could a Christian justify the Bible's claims of our earth being flat, when God created earth? Surely God should know that the earth is round, and so this should be said in the Bible?

What evidence do you see in the Bible that God is evil and Satan is less evil?
Q. According to the Bible God has killed more people than Satan. Even entire villages with women and children and animals. What examples to you have that God is more evil than Satan?

A. God came up with this elaborate plan where he would cause his only son to be tortured and crucified. Satan never did anything so evil. It bothers me that Christians defend this idea like it was a great plan. As for me and my house we will serve Satan.

What do Christians make of the fact that God likes some people better than others?
Q. Is that recognized in Christianity? If not, how do Christians explain God's choosing of the Israelites over other people? See for example, Deuteronomy 7:6, "For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth." Rene O, so you're saying the Bible is wrong? That it misquoted God?

A. Of course he said that in Deut, he was talking to the Jews. Passed a billboard that said God loves America. Sooo... guess it's whoever he's talking to at the moment.

How come US Christians say bible is word of God but they use Martin Luther's version?
Q. How come US Christians say bible is word of God but then use a bible that has many parts removed ?

A. Martin Luther translated the German Bible. See how many translations there are of the English Bible... and besides these, there are many more - but they all basically agree.

A. Yes we are definitely supposed to read the old testament, but we are not supposed to follow cultural guidelines. Plus because Jesus rendered animal sacrifices and most of the laws in the new testament no longer needed, we are supposed to follow the New Covenant, not the Abrahamic Covenant.

Christians: How do you react when your religion is attacked?
Q. I know many Christians who get very upset when people criticize the Bible and a belief in God. But isn't it really a positive thing that people are attacking Christianity with such great zeal, as that is precisely what God said would happen before armageddon? That means the end comes near, the prize is just around the corner, the carrot at the end of the stick, if you will. It would be far worse if no one criticized Christian beliefs. That would mean the apocalypse is still far off, and isn't that a depressing idea?

A. Religions are attacked pretty often, not just mine. I take it in stride. There are things about Mainstream Christianity I don't agree with anyhow.

Christians; how do our beliefs differ from those who are Unitarian Universalists?
Q. I know that the true Christ- follower believes the Bible and knows that the Jesus Christ is God Himself in the flesh, but my sister just recently got interested in becoming one... I would LOVE and need to learnmore about it. Thank you. God bless.

A. As a seventh generation Universalist, Unitarian Universalist since 1961, I am consistently amused, aghast and astounded at how many people, ignorant about our denomination, are willing to share their misinformation with others. You will never see me here spouting authoritatively about Baptists, Catholics, Jews, etc. because I am not intimately acquainted with any of those faiths. Let's explore some of the misinformation or myths about Unitarian Universalism: First myth: You can believe anything you want. Here are the principles that bind UUs together. You would find yourself very out of place if you didn't agree with them.: The Principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist… [cont.]
